BodybyFisher
Click the link at the bottom of my post and follow the link for your year and model, report back if it does not work. Keep in mind that you need to make sure that the buttons themselves are functional, a bad button of course will stop the system from envoking the PCM to disclose any DTCs that are present. If you are sure the buttons are good and functional individually, and it still does not work, we have had some members disconnect the battery's negative cable and then reconnect to sort of "reboot" the system and then it works using the required buttons to dump the codes.. Göran W
Hi Mike! I just love your pages. They are very helpful for all DIY. The problem for me is that my board don´t match the disciptions (or maybe it´s my eyes or the language ). I have "Yes" - "No" - "INFO". The Yes and No are same as trip and reset. The Info does not have any "up or down". What´s missing?
Ranger
Does the "DTC display 1989-2000" match your car? Try that one if so.
Göran W
Does the "DTC display 1989-2000" match your car? Try that one if so. My "info" does not have any arrows. I have to press repetedly all the way around. My tempknob is made to turn (not press). I suppose I´ll have to go for "trail´n error"....... or buy a simple reader. Some export Cadillacs have different DTC codes, Logan is usually very helpful with them. I was not aware that invoking the codes was different in the export vehicles however. Can you take a photo of your dash and post it here? I am sure that this is something very simple, Ill see if I can get Logan to stop by. Let me look at the directions to see what is wrong So let me get this straight, you are unable to get into the system to extract the codes? Göran W
It´s probably me..... My car isn´t an exportversion.... It is all US - brought here by a Swede on vaccation. The problem is for me to understand the buttons since they don´t seem to match the discriptions. Located in the middle/top of the dash. Trip and reset-buttons with alternative marking "YES" and "NO". To the right of them is "INFO". (Than comes gas- and trunklid.) My gess is that this matches any US Eldorado 2000 ESC but I don´t know.......? If in doubt I´ll try to snap a photo. Yes! I am unable to get in cause I don´t understand how!
st8w8
Does it look like this If so press the OFF button (right above the rear defrost) and press up on the PASS TEMP button. Hold the two buttons down at the same time for a few seconds and you should be in diagnostic mode. Hope this helps!
Göran W
Ooops! Wrong place! I´ve been looking at the top (above the picture) at the "INFO"-button. I suppose it was the mentioning of info up/down that made my brain go "tilt"......... Yes, it looks like that! As usually a picture says more than a thousand words! Thankyou all!!!!!!!!! Ranger
OK, now that you have that figured out, HIGH FAN = YES and LOW FAN = NO to the prompts.
Göran W
Worked like a dream!!!!! Thanks again! Maybe the instruction should be edited? It says "infobutton" or is this correct for others than Eldo?
Ranger
I think that refers to the 2000+ Devilles and '98+ (I think) Sevilles. The Eldo is like the older Sevilles. It never got updated once it was slated for extinction.
