Yes, I have a few suggestions on your first posting here

1) stop typing in CAPs it implies that you are YELLING and is hard to read

2) why did you parts replace?, at who's direction did you replace all of those parts? Did you have codes that said you had problems?

3) what was the result of your SEARCH here?, there is a lot of information

4) do you have any codes stored? DTC codes? You do not need a code reader, you have an on-board diagnostics computer, what codes do you have?

Did you read this, where is says READ ME BEFORE YOU POST, it will show you how to get your codes if any.

LOL. Ok I will stop writing in caps. The on board system doesn't say that I'm overheating or anything like that. I replaced the parts because the gaskets on the water pump housing to block were bad and while I had everything out I figured I'd replace them. So now everything is back together and NOT leaking, but im still overheating. I was also told that it has a second temperture sensor that tells the comp to kick the fans on. I just haven't been able to locate it.

Did you go and read that link I sent you to?

Go find out how to retrieve your codes and post them here, we can not help you

By the way, there is a TON and I mean a TON of overheating threads if you do a search, I know that because I have been here over ten years

Post your codes!

Ok, I looked at the link and I was able to pull up the codes. The codes I received were, P016, 021,026,052,065,070,076,095,096,102,109 and the others I got were, I041,I052,R036. I'm assuming I did this right. ACP, TCS, and RSS said NO CODES.

P016 (E016) ......................................... Voltage Out of Range [ALL SOL]

P021 (E021) ............................................... Shorted TPS Signal [VCC]

P026 (E026) ......................................... Shorted Throttle Signal Switch

P052 (E052) ....................................................... PCM Memory Reset

P065 (E065) ................................................... Cruise - SPS Failure

P070 (E070) ................................................ Intermittent TPS Signal

P076 (E076) ......................................... Transmission Pressuse Solenoid

P095 (E095) .................................................. Engine Stall Detected

P096 (E096) ............................................ Torque Converter Overstress

P102 (E102) .............................. Shorted brake Booster Vacuum (BBV) Sensor

P109 (E109) ....... Keep Alive Memory (KAM) Reset/PCM has lost primary battery power

Besides the overheating, do you have any driveability issues?

Have your battery load tested and check the cables for corrosion and tightness (P016, and maybe P109 unless the batt was disconnected)

After you check your battery check the codes again, some or all may go away

You probably need to replace your TPS (P070 and P021)

Check the battery to eliminate that possiblitity first.

As far as the overheating

Check your air purge line as follows

1) make sure your engine is cool

2) there is a hose on top of the coolant tank, not the overflow, the other one

3) gently pull that hose off

4) start and idle engine

5) look at hose, it should have a steady stream of coolant, does it?

If that line is clogged, air can not get out of the cooling system and the water pump cavitates. Do not try to clear it with compressed air, if there is no coolant flowing let us know and we will tell you what to do

Way too many codes. You have bad grounds/battery connections/cables.

The saddest thing in life is wasted talent

So I bought a new battery and many codes went away, but the fans still don't come on and it starts spitting out the coolant at 171 degrees. The other issue I'm having is the transmission won't switch out of first gear. the codes that are still showing are, p-026, 052, 070, 076, 095, 109, I052, I039, R036

Well the tranny is not a problem if you are spitting out coolant at 171 degrees

Consider that water boils at 212 at normal atmosphere and coolant only raises that, and then system pressure raises that even more

False boiling because your head gasket is bad and combustion gasses are superheating the coolant causes boilovers

Check your cap to see if it is holding pressure, if its NOT holding pressure at all, coolant could come out and it could boil at a lower temp.

While you check your cap put your nose in the coolant tank and smell, do you smell exhaust fumes?

I never buy any of those caps only Delco OE (stainless steel). Those aftermarket ones are poorly constructed and normally only plated steel which will allow a reaction over time to the filler neck of your surge tank...

Something caused you to spit coolant at 171 degrees

Very unusual

Do the smell test, I described above

When it spits coolant is the coolant boiling?

Check your coolant tank for cracks... Where is it spitting from?

I did the purge line test and I got the steady stream of coolant. I bought a cap with the pressure release. Could that be the reason?

I changed the cap and it still starts spitting out coolant at about 170 degrees. How much coolant should come out of the line that goes to the tank? What came out was not as thick as the line. With the a.c. on, the fans run and it stays in between 148/151 and never spits out coolant. If I take it up the road, the tranny still stays in 1st. It didn't do that before I did the water pump housing to block gaskets.

Who did the gaskets?

Do me a favor, I dont have time or patience to decipher your codes, go here, and look them up, you have a 95, so they are OBD1. If they are the same as above post them again, now that you changed your battery we need current codes

Just highlight the code on this site, do CONTROL C, then come here, put the cursor where you want to paste and hit CONTROL V

Get your codes here and post the meanings

P022- Open TPS Signal

P026- Shorted Throttle Signal Switch

P032- Open MAP Sensor Signal

P036- EGR Valve Pintle Position Out of Range

P070- Intrmittent TPS Signal

R036- Passenger Loop Energy Reserve Feed Open

If you are puking coolant out of the overflow at 171 degrees, then you most likely have a head gasket leaking exhaust gases into the cooling system and pressurizing it because you certainly are not overheating.

The P026 code is also the TPS, so its shorted but its OPEN? Based on P070, your TPS is intermittant then going to SHORTED in the P026 very odd

Can anyone confirm that P026 is related to the TPS, or is this the closed thottle switch on the ICS?

Check your MAP to see if its connected

Clean your EGR valve, buy a new gasket before you do it

Not sure what R036 is

Check all of your connectors on your TPS, ISC and MAP.

We need to look into R036, we need to find out what is causing you to stay in first.

Did you remove the conduit that crosses the engine to do the crossover seals?

I agree, something is odd there.

He does not smell exhaust fumes

He should start the car with the cap off engine cool and see if he sees bubbles in the tank

He may or may not smell exhaust in the tank and that also depends on the sensitivity of his nose and if he knows what he's smelling for. I think you would agree Mike, that is a good test, but not definitive enough to hang your hat on, especially if negative. As for the bubbles (false boiling), it may not yet be evident at idle. He doesn't seem to have a problem at cruise (yet), only under a load. MAYBE brake torquing it would cause it to bubble.

True, a good radiator shop should be able to test the coolant for hydrocarbons, I would not do anything further until that test was done

By the way, what made you change the crossover seals? Was it leaking badly or were you overheating?

I changed the seals because they leaked badly even with the car off! i do see bubbling in the tank but only when its cool. The engine runs smooth other than that. I've also been getting a extremely high idle just by running it the the driveway every couple times I start it.
