BodybyFisher
Hello, Wanted to know if anyone could help........the "Check Coolant Level" warning displayed on my DIC yesterday so I added coolant but the warning is still displayed any suggestions and/or insight as to the issue? The coolant tank has a level sensor in it, if your coolant is not low, its either a bad sensor or the wiring associated with it. The sensor is part of the tank, so if its bad, you need to replace the tank, not a bad thing on a 97 as they tend to crack right about now, if its never been changed Figure $125 for the part, try www.gmotors.com or www.rockauto.com Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm

adallak
I would be rather concerned with the loss of the coolant than the malfunction of the sensor. The sensors are known to fail. Check the level of the coolant frequently. You may have cracked radiator side tank, failed plastic part connected to the heater hose, leaking heater core and many other possibilities. The saddest thing in life is wasted talent
Ranger
If it IS the tank, get the part number and use it as an Amazon search. Amazon just saved me $40 for an AIR pump over the Rockauto price.
