blk987
98' deville, its getting cold out the past few days and when I turn the heat on I can hear the a/c compressor running too. I pulled the fuse so they dont run simutaneously but can anyone help? By the way the heat works but it is blowing out the defrost which I believe is just a vacuum line that I have not repaired yet
BodybyFisher
Put the fuse back in, the AC is suppose to run to dehumidify the air that is delivered, once the temp gets below a certain temp, it will turn off, what you are seeing is normal Check for AC codes for the defroster problem and the cooling distribution problem Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm
Ranger
If you are using it in the AUTO mode, that runs the A/C. Use the ECON mode. The ECON mode is essentially auto with an A/C bypass.
