Jan Olsson
Scary stuff! I guess it is a risk with cars that accesses the internet and can communicate with the PCM.
Cadillac Jim
I think that this is the real reason that you can't get a digital phone upgrade on older Cadillacs like mine. There is no way that GM can release the connectivity and encryption data for a phone because of it's integration with the car's network and the OnStar capabilities. An in-house secure digital phone module to replace my old Hughes phone just doesn't make sense to GM as a development effort for -- who many, perhaps a few hundred purchases. They would lose big bucks no matter how you figure it. With the top priority making enough money to get back on the horse for all the major automakers, charity isn't a big item on the to-do list at GM. -- Click Here for CaddyInfo page on "How To" Read Your OBD Codes-- Click Here for my personal page to download my OBD code list as an Excel file, plus other Cadillac data -- See my CaddyInfo car blogs: 2011 CTS-V, 1997 ETC Yes, I was Jims_97_ETC before I changed cars.
