Galaxy 1000 system - ANY BODY HAVE EXPERIENCE?

Recommended Posts

I recently found out about the Galaxy 1000 Bluetooth communication devise and I am very interested in it. I have a 2005 Escalade that does not have Bluetooth and would very much like to find out if anybody has it and what there opinions of it are.

Thanks in advance!

The first thing you should always do is use the SEARCH function

We have had discussion on the GALAXY before

Search "galaxy" and you will find some info, I just did

Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1  >>

1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm

Texas Jim,

Thanks!

I have just one question left unanswered. I have factory navigation and I am wondering if that will still function normally if this system is installed. I will call the Galaxy 1000 people on Monday and post their answer here so others will know as well.

Well,

I spoke to Fred (owner of Galaxy 1000) this morning regarding the Galaxy 1000 system and he assured me that the Factory Navigation System will still function normally after his system is installed. I have about 100 minutes left on my On-Star account, and think that after they are used up I might give his system a shot. My wife has Bluetooth in her 2010 Buick Lacross and it is a great system. I do not have the same expectations for the after market system, but it should be reasonable close according to Fred. If I do install the system, I will report on the operation of it here on the forum

  • 4 months later...

Well I finally got off my butt and ordered the Galaxy 1000 this week. I should have it installed and working by the weekend, so after a test period I will report on how it works.

Very good...

I have thought of putting a bluetooth system in my 2006 DTS.

The 2007 and newer had one...but the 2006 does "NOT" have it.

I should use the OnStar minutes... I have about 1500 minutes I need to use up...:)

Yes, I received the Galaxy 1000 last week and installed it in 5 minutes. It works very well! The owner of the company Fred Small is a stand-up guy, calls right back if you have any questions, and told me if any updates in software come out, he will install them free of charge. The unit works just as it is advertised, and so far is clear and reliable. The only small inconvenience is that the phone button on the steering wheel won't work. You must push the button on the mirror (which by the way is exactly how he states it on his infomercial). That is one of the software updates he is currently working on. So far I am a "happy camper" and I would absolutely recommend it!

Thank you for the update.

I am considering getting one...and appreciate the opinions of someone who actually owns one.

Thanks again... :)

This is just an update:

I have had the Galaxy 1000 Bluetooth system for about two weeks now and I just wanted to let everybody (who is interested), that the system works quite well. I would definitely recommend it to someone that does not have Bluetooth and who plans on keeping their vehicle for a while, although the system should be capable of being transferred to another GM vehicle with On Star. It works so well, that I gave away my Motorola Bluetooth earpiece today.

Regards,

Bob

Bob,

Thank you for the update.

I am trying to decide if and how long, I am going to keep the current car or if I am going to trade it for a new one pretty soon.

Either way... I might get one.

I have heard that the Bluetooth in the newer cars...sometimes works and sometimes don't. :)
