StrictlyBusiness
I recently bought a car and was told that it only needed a fuel pump well the motor was shot too so I had the motor replaced and Now there is a few quirky things going on with my car. My ABS/TRACTION Control module doesn't work, It was covered in coolant from the bad motor and it looked like it was shot, so I replaced it (also my speedometer doesn't work it worked for like 30 seconds after the motor got in.) I had a HUGE list of codes (current & history) I cleared them and have been replacing things here and there and now I am stuck with these few codes, Can anybody tell me how I can fix them? Oh yeah and I forgot say my odometer/trip reader doesnt read anymore either its stuck at 183xxx something. 96 STS Vin code 9 PC1634 CURRENT PC1642 HISTORY NO IPC CODES AC1348 CURRENT - I have my ac disconnected. (this also only shows every once and a while.) NO SDM CODES TC0033 CURRENT RS0036 CURRENT RS0043 CURRENT NO PZM CODES NO IRC DATA NO RFA CODES NO CCP CODES PCM? Bruce Nunnally
Can you tell me what I need to do to fix this?? Knowing the engine / powertrain were R&R recently, I would look at the speed sensor issue first. The speedo out can be caused by that. First check the transmission ponytail electronic connection to the car, unplug it, see if it needs clean up, and plug it back in. It is possible that the VSS in the transmission went out, which is a pain but not that uncommon a problem. Because of the recent work I suspect something is just not securely connected though. BodybyFisher
Keep in mind that you have a lot of mileage and its 14 model years old. Not sure when you acquired it but if it has just been driven with no maintenance, you are going to have to replace and repair. The Vehicle Speed Sensor is located on the right hand output shaft on top, its possible that it came loose Here is the VSS location, see arrow. I will see what the suspension codes mean later, I think they are covered in the FSM Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm
