Uffe6y
I wonder if there is anyone who have put a northstar in a 92 seville?...is it the same gearbox and is it any problems to do that?

JasonA
As Logan said, the transmission is different. The 4.9L cars have the 4T65-E if I recall correctly. The Northstar cars have the 4T80-E, which is stronger. Although you might be able to physically bolt a Northstar to the 4T65-E (and you may not, I don't know), it may not be strong enough to handle the power from the 4.6L engine. Uffe6y
Ive heard that the 93 sts have the same gearbox as the 92 and they changed it in the 94...can that be correct info?
KHE
Not for a STS. The base Seville may have had the same trans. for '92 and '93 as both years had the 4.9 engine. In '94, both the SLS and STS had the Northstar so '94 and later had the same trans. except the final gear ratio was diffetent. JasonA
Just for everyones info the 92 has a 4T60E trans. Thanks for the correction. Do you happen to know any of the differences between that transmission and the 4T65-E? I'm pretty sure the S/C 3800 cars (and maybe all the 3800 cars for that matter) use the 4T65-E, and I thought the older TFWD Cadillacs did too. Sorry for the misinformation.
