That thread was dead but it drifted off into politics. We are seeing a lot of these types of discussions in the 19th hole. There is a lot of emotion in this election, both sides are charged, I am as guilty as anyone in that thread. I closed it because the thread was effectively dead and drifted. I think these discussions are ok in the 19th hole, many of the issues we are running into fuel cost, fuel efficiency, etc, are politically based. winterset Posted October 9, 2008 Report Share Posted October 9, 2008 Not sure if ever told this story before, but my brother-in-law refuses to take the advise that "religion & politics have no place in mixed company". whenever there would be an event, that's all this dude will talk about. After he left, he became the talk of the party. He usually ended up pissing off everyone at the function - even people with his views because if they agreed on his politics, they got offended by his religious views. My family all told him to stop, and he ended up getting pissed off at us - thickest skull I ever saw!!! - anyway, he eventually ended up losing friends, doesn't go to church much anymore, and has been left off the invitation list for family gatherings.
