Cadillac Jim Posted October 12, 2007 Report Share Posted October 12, 2007 The security system is set when you lock the doors with the electric door locks or the fob. If you unlock a door with the mechanical lever (not the electric unlock) it doesn't turn off security. Using a key in the driver's door should turn off the security. If you open a car door with the security on, it will set off the alarm. It sounds like an electrical problem with the driver's door.
