BodybyFisher
Robin, tell your cheapo bf to buy a service manual. If you would like I can send you my cell phone number and I can straighten him out for you or console you, you sound like you need it! Anyway: C1235 is Right Rear Wheel Speed Circuit Open or Shorted, check to see if there is a plug off the speed sensor that is located in the rear wheel bearing B1983 - Device Power Circuit Low P1638 - Generator F-Terminal Circuit The second and third codes are probably related. It sounds like your alternator is bad. It could also be an aftermarket alternator we have seen the F terminal problem with aftermarket alternators. I would check the connections at the alternator and then pull it and have it tested or replace it with an OEM alternator Let us know how this works out.... You can get definitions for your codes here > http://myweb.accessus.net/~090/dtcobd2.html Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm

Bruce Nunnally
You can also find a very detailed factory shop manual for the Cadillac at http://www.helminc.com or often at a discount on ebay. Perhaps you could get it for your BF as a present. Bruce 2023 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing Follow me on: Twitter Instagram Youtube

Robin Hi, I really would like to get my car running good. He's going to bug me big time cause I don't work full time and spend time playing cards and stuff on the net but won't take the time to get him information to fix my cars. Can I get some help for these problems. I forgot to add the heater core leaks and does the dash really need to be removed to accomplish replacing a heater core? Is it a really big job? The code B1983 power device circuit low refers to what device? I have codes P174 P440, P1638current IPC code C1210 current Service brake switch light flashes tcs codes C1233 and 1235 Can anyone give more information on what these mean and how to fix them. My BF is very busy and is on the road alot and I'm the cheapooo that doesn't have a manual for MY car. Maybe I should get my BF one for his birthday? He says the air pump isn't working and 1 of the air shocks is leaking and can't find a replacement shock with a air bag. Any advice would be awesome. Bruce Nunnally
This set looks like what you need (not my auction; don't know seller): http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1998-Cadill...sspagenameZWDVW These are the factory shop manuals that the GM techs use, so if your BF is a mechanic they are the map to fixing your car. B codes are for Brakes, so it would be a power problem in the ABS I think. TCS is traction control system. gmotors.com and rockauto.com are good places for discount repair parts. First I would try them and see if they offer GM parts and what the prices + shipping are on the shocks. Ranger
Robin, Are you SURE you are not married? All kidding aside, those manuals will be the best money you ever spent and make the repairs easier for your BF. "B" codes are actually Body "C" codes are Chassis "P" codes are PCM (Powertrain Control Module) P0174 - Fuel Trim System Lean Bank 2 Bank 2 is running lean. Might be a vacuum leak. P0440 - Evaporative Emission (EVAP) System Loose gas cap, vacuum leak in one of the EVAP lines. Evap solenoid or valve problem. P1638 - Generator F-Terminal Circuit BF should know this one. Can't fine C1210 C1233 - Right Front Wheel Speed Circuit Open or Shorted C1235 - Right Rear Wheel Speed Circuit Open or Shorted Check the electrical connectors on the respective hubs. If clean and tight, the integral speed sensor is likely failed. Run a continuity test. Most likely need to R & R the hub & bearing assembly.
