15 inch OK?

I need a set of winter rims and tires for my 98 STS.

Will 15" be ok?

I can get a smokin deal on a set from a Pontiac, but they are only 15".

They have 205/70/15 on them right now.

I am pretty sure the bolt patterns are the same?

I am not 100%.

They look like they are from a grand prix, and I am sure they are 115mm.

15" wheels.

This is the link to them.

Doesn't say if they are from a Grand Prix.

Says 5 x 100, but I have not seen that size for Pontiac before.

I wouldn't bet on a Pontiac bolt hole pattern being the same. In the old days, Pontiac had a bolt circle diameter that was a little different from anybody else, although I don't believe that this distinction survived the bass-o-matic scrambling of GM makes in the 1980's.

A quick way to check is to look at the wheel listings on The Tire Rack's web site. Look for wheels that will fit your car, and see if any Pontiacs are also listed for that wheel.

It does seem like a crime to put smaller wheels on an STS. The Touring package includes a handling upgrade that you will basically throw away with smaller, narrower wheels. Also, you probably won't match the rolling radius, which will effectively give you a lower final drive gear ratio and throw off your speedometer. I wouldn't trust it at speeds over about 80 mph on 15" wheels.
