i just bought a 97 deville. when the car sits for any lenth of time it takes a while to start. it seems it is losing fuel prime. ichecked theschreader valve and it has no pressure. is this the fpr or the fuel pump? is there anything else it could be.thanks for any help

I agree with Ranger, FPR.... Take the vacuum hose off of it and see if you have fuel present...

Yeah most likely FPR...If taking the vacuum hose off of it doesn't produce gas leaking from it. Try running the vehicle w/ the Vacuum hose off and pluged. Some times when they are just starting to go bad they only visably leak while higher running pressure is constant.

If you suspect it might leak under load, I certainly wouldn't drive it with the vacuum disconnected!

I have experience with things like that: http://caddyinfo.ipbhost.com/index.php?sho...4&hl=hoping

There is no means of avoiding the final collapse of a boom brought about by credit expansion. The alternative is only whether the crisis should come sooner as the result of a voluntary abandonment of further credit expansion, or later as a final and total catastrophe of the currency system involved. - Ludwig von Mises
