LINDAL
My son's Eldorado has become increasingly worse at pulling to the left. I have driven it most of this week because mine was in the shop. Today my husband decided to change the hub bearing (I think you call it). He replaced both on my 1994 sts with no problems. this one gave him some problems but he got it on. But, the car is pulling to the left even after the bearing change. Just wondering what else could be the problem. We got out the manual and have started digging thru it. But, that will take some time. Just thought I would see if anyone had any ideas as we search the service manuals. I searched for something similar but I didn't come up with anything. Regis
If there isn't any unusual noise associated with the car pulling left then I would think the alignment is off. Can you give us any specific details as to what is going on? Does the front end shake or vibrate. Do you hear any clunking noises? Gives us as much detail as you can reasonably offer. LINDAL
Pulls to the left and jumps to the left when you hit a little dip in the road. No noise heard. No unusual wear on the tires. May be out of alignment. I guess that will be our next thing to try.
Ranger
Alignment, draging brake, uneven tire pressure or wear are the usual culprits.
BigCat83
Alignment, draging brake, uneven tire pressure or wear are the usual culprits. You could have a brake caliper that isn't releasing all the way. Feel the wheel when you stop, if it's hot that is most likely your problem - may be time for new brake hoses... LINDAL
Just to update the diagnosis of the pulling to the left. Apparently, the hub bearing was causing the tires to wear. We put the front tires in the back and it solved the front puling. But, the back end has a funny feel to it now. Planning on buying at least 2 tires this weekend. He has to save his money for the other two. Maybe next payday.
BodybyFisher
Sounds like alignment and possibly worn parts like strut rod bushings or tie rods... Larry
Sonds like you got it, the tires in the back will smooth out in 5-10 thousand miles. but still won't be right, and the tires in the back having a bent belt or cupped tead will try to steer the car to left or right slightly. Yes I would recommend alignment now that the repair has been done.
