BodybyFisher
Didn't you say that you got a recall notice? Here is what the recall stated that I received it covers: Cadillac E/K Car 1995 Manufacture date 9/93 to 6/95 Cadillac E/K Car 1996 Manufacture date 3/95 to 6/96 Cadillac E/K Car 1997 Manufacture date 3/96 to 6/97 It includes eldorados/sevilles/devilles You can also go here to do a search: http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/problems...ecallsearch.cfm Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm
Ranger
I don't know why, but I believe the recall only included the US. I guess Canada does not have a NHTSA to force a recall.
BodybyFisher
Vehicles involved If Ranger is right, I would replace that fuel rail on my own if it is nylon, Mike Try clicking FOREIGN CAMPAIGN on the right at the NHTSA site Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm
stefank
Ranger and all, I got my recall notice here in Germany February last year. I had it carried out by the GM dealer in March '05. My car is an "genuine" GM-sold car, no grey-market or self-import. Maybe this has something to do with it? Stefan
Ebby
Thanks for the info. I called Transport Canada today and was told there have been no problems with fuel rails up here so they have no need to push GM into recalling any cars. If you determine that your car was included in the recall, I would replace it if I were you. Forget about what Transport Canada thinks, if those fuel rails were failing badly enough to cause a recall in the US, you should replace yours. Ranger
I'll second that.
franey
Why not just drive down to the USA, and take to a Cadillac dealer , I do not think he would care, since at that time it would be a US car. I believe , the price of the the fuel rail , would more than justify the road trip.
mhinchley
My deville was manufactured in 3/97, so I guess I need to see if the recall has been completed on it. Is there a site to do that online or have to call dealer? Or I guess when girlfriend gets home with it, I can just check the fuel rail.

You could call the dealer with the VIN no. but it is easier to just pop the cover and have a look.
