Are you getting any codes? Is it running rich or rough? A leaky injector or a bad FPR could dump too much fuel but I believe you would have driveability issues.

Nope runs fine no codes. Was having the problem with oil leak in haf case just kept putting oil in it as is not worth the cost of repair. Now oil is filling up with gas very thin and stays over full all the time.

Pull your fuel rail up so you can see the injectors, have a helper turn the key on to pressurize the fuel system to see if you have a leaky injector, any dripping is not good. Obviously don't crank the engine.

If you are getting this much fuel, you risk hydrolocking the engine, I would look into it. Its amazing the engine idles smoothly if you are getting that much fuel. Pull the vacuum hose off the FPR and see if you have fuel present.

This happened to another car of mine (no Cadillac) and it turned out to be the fuel pressure regulator as said by bodybyfisher. My car had drivability issues, thou, and was running very rich (black smoke).

The FPR should leak into the manifold and burn the fuel when the engine is running. After shut down it would just leal into the manifold til the fuel system depressurizes and the be injested and burnt when the engine is started. A leaky injector on the other hand will leak into the cylinder til the fuel system depressurizes. Over night it would leak past the rings into the crankcase. My money is on a leaky injector.

Out of curiousity what does one look for when diagnoising "fuel in oil"? Is gas visable "in" the oil after you have drained the pan? Will the oil have a noticable odor of gas? (like when you wipe off the dipstick will the rag smell like gas?)

symptoms I found was rising oil level, strong gas smell when sniffing the dipstick (not that I do that all the time ) :D and black smoke from the exhaust.

Well agree on the injector will check it out monday and let you know. I know that in a big truck oil in the fule is usually due to bad injector but was not sure about a car, but the symptons are the same. Thanks for your input will help and give a place to start.
