FlamingGoatBalls
There is a 40 dollar chage on my final bill that says "Check for surge under acceleration. We found a code 109 We reprogramed the PCM with updated information. That doesnt sound right. What are they talking about?
JasonA
First question...is the surging fixed? If not, they probably just cleared the code and charged you for it. They may have reflashed the PCM with new software. There may be a software update for a 1993 model year car. If the surging is gone, and stays gone, I'd say there was a software upgrade they performed. Jason(2001 STS, White Diamond) "When you turn your car on...does it return the favor?" 32v_dohc
It's not right. Code 109 is the keep alive memory. Basically it tells you the battery has been disconnected. You should also know that the 1993 PCM contains a removable PROM. If they had replaced it the bill should have been higher. My guess is that they charged you 40 to clear non drivability code. adallak
I hate to see stealerships cheating on people. What if we create a black list of dishonest dealerships, and a white list of ones we had good experience with. We have members from all the states, so the coverage would be pretty solid and in a while could serve as a good guide for caddy owners. The saddest thing in life is wasted talent
FlamingGoatBalls
Well it seems to be driving somewhat better. I think they quoted me 150 originally but I only see a 40 charge on the bill. ANd the battery was unhook a few days before I took the car in.
