rek
Will the light come on only for emission related codes, or will it come on if any code is set ? In Ohio, your car will fail the "Test" if the light is on. No hook up to read the code, just the light on. rek
JasonA
Usually, only emissions/powertrain codes will set the MIL (Malfunction Indicator Light). For example: P0404 -- EGR malfunction, will light the MIL. C1221 -- LF Wheel Speed Sensor Signal, will light the ABS and TRACTION CONTROL indicator lights. C1251 -- RSS Steering Sensor Malfunction, won't light any lights, but will display the message STABILITY REDUCED on the DIC. B2719 -- Trunk Tamper Switch Fault, won't light anything, but will be stored in the PCM. The action taken does depend on the fault detected. PAUL T
Check your codes by hitting the "off" and "warmer" buttons on the climate control panel. More info in this at caddyinfo home page in the FAQ's.
