BodybyFisher
What photo hosting service are you using? I want to be able to store photos and link them here. Cadillac Jim
I use Photobucket. Some people use ImageShack. I've also linked photos that I've found elsewhere on the web by using their URLs; that doesn't *always* work but most of the time it's OK. -- Click Here for CaddyInfo page on "How To" Read Your OBD Codes-- Click Here for my personal page to download my OBD code list as an Excel file, plus other Cadillac data -- See my CaddyInfo car blogs: 2011 CTS-V, 1997 ETC Yes, I was Jims_97_ETC before I changed cars. BodybyFisher
I was reluctant to say that I am having a lot of problems with Photobucket, especially the mobile app. Its very laggy, loads pics multiple times, crashes, ads galore, its driving me crazy lol Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm
Cadillac Jim
I rarely use the phone apps for adding content to the cloud. People do use phones and tablets all the time, but you really need good wi-fi to do that well. A laptop or desktop is best for adding graphics to a web site, unless you do something pre-programmed, like upload a phone video to your Facebook page. But, you are telling us that the Photobucket phone app doesn't do well.
Yes the app is bad almost useless, but even accessing photobucket with a laptop is terrible. I am connected via N wifi, it is possibly because I have 800 photos, but the ads and the interface itself is terrible. Trying to browse and look through photos is painful Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm
Cadillac Jim
Recently I have found that finding old uploads on my Photobucket "album" is a bit of a chore. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to the ordering of the photos. I don't want to delete old files because that will kill the graphics in some old posts. I suppose that I could break things up into albums. I haven't looked into that. Sufficient aggravation will make me do it, though. I would *hope* that doing this doesn't break old links to the graphics.
Thanks for confirming that its a chore. I need to get off wifi and go hardwired to see if that helps Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm
Cadillac Jim
Good WiFi is as good as hard-wired. The key is that the signal strength and speed are faster than the servers on the web sites, and that you don't clog the channel with teenagers in the house streaming movies on their phones and tablets.
I have a high performance wired network and have gigabit (1000) wired performance, it blows away my N wireless. The wired gigabyte network is optimized for the smart TVs and LG NAS file server and to keep old devices away from the gigabit so I don't degrade the thru-put. I have AC wifi also but took that router down as I didn't like where it was located (next to my head on the end table, not good http://www.globalhealingcenter.com/natural-health/10-shocking-facts-health-dangers-wifi/). I have also analyzed wifi channels to be sure my neighbors wifi channels aren't causing interference. Add to that my daughter is in college tying up their wireless lol.. I have gotten to the point that photobucket is extremely annoying with its speed and ads and I need to find options. Will test it wired today, I have a feeling it will make a big difference, wired made a big big difference when I was downloading torrent files. Cadillac Jim
Let me know what you find. Google Files may be an alternative; I haven't looked at that for photo hosting.
