The Allard J2X roadster http://allardj2x.com

The Allard Motor Works J2X MKII is a modern hand-crafted version of the famed British competition roadster that stirred crowds in Europe and North America in the early 1950s. Our modern version integrates the latest technology into the same design, to provide a safer, more comfortable and reliable vehicle than its predecessor, without compromising performance."

The emergence of the 2-liter twin-turbo four-cylinder as the standard engine is very recent. If someone prefers something that they are more familiar with, there is the excellent 320 hp normally aspirated 3.6 liter direct-injection V6 at about 320 hp, and an array of turbocharged and twin-turbocharged V6 models. At this point in time, the 3.6 liter is quite mature and trouble-free.

There is a DOHC 4.5 liter V8 in the works but it will likely be turbocharged also, and its introduction date is unknown to me.

I drive a CTS-V with the LSA 6.2 liter supercharged V8, rated at 556 hp, and I find it a very tractable, trouble-free daily driver. It's very comfortable in supermarket parking lots. There is absolutely no reason to be afraid of driving with this engine because of its capability. The newer version will have VVT and variable displacement which should improve its fuel economy quite a bit as well as its performance, without sacrificing tractability at all. But for a show car or a good daily driver without the cost of the LSA, the 2-liter or 3.6-liter engines offer much lower cost.

I love the 556 hp LSA, s/c v8, but if people want other options for their Allard the 272 hp LTG 2L turbo seems a good match.

Looking at http://www.chevrolet.com/performance/crate-engines.html the LTG is around $9K compared to LSA starting at $14K

The LSA is up to $26k in some packages I guess depending on computers and harness included? Note the LTG needs something like LTG Crate Engine Control System Kit Part Number 19328839 Part Number 19328840 to help w hookup.

These instructions cover the following packages: 19328839 LTG Controller Kit, 2014, 2015

ll Engine control kits have the following parts: I-Sheet (Instruction Sheet)
