airmike
If anyone is interested in checking out awesome garages, I found the garagejournal.com web site. Check out Jack Olsen and abstamaria. Make sure you have some time though, because you will be mesmerized for some time!! These are garages updated by ordinary (somewhat) people. Then if you want to check out the rich and famous type, check out Craig Jacksons on you tube. Only need 8 minutes for that one, but its not something us ordinary joes could even dream of. They will make my shop look bad but I get ideas from them, and hope to incorporate some as I build mine. Don't go if you don't have time to kill. Bruce Nunnally
I am on this topic now -- cleaning out and looking at remodeling the garage. I am thinking cabinets to replace the shelves, and garage tiles for the deck. I want to get everything out from along the sides, and with the cabinets in the back give the garage a clean look (just don't look inside the cabinets! lol) Here is my notional garage tile design using the gadget at swisstrax.com. My Wife immediately said "Oh, you're trying to show me where to park?!" Garage tiles are generally 12"x12" interlocking tiles. Since the come in a variety of colors you can form patterns as above. They are somewhat more expensive than pouring a floor covering, but I like that they can be put down by hand and taken up if needed. Tiles to cover the whole 2 car garage might be $2-3 each and 255 needed, so think $750 range. Bruce Nunnally
Those Garagegear cabinets look great. that's the look I would like to get to, but I will have to do in stages. This weekend is a massive cleanup, perhaps getting rid of one shelving system but we'll see. I like this look a lot but I would only need one or two 4' wide pods.
