polandcaddy
I have 1995 seville sls with trans problem 52 k on odo. Code po86 appears on onboard diagnistics, and shifts hard and late into gear and when changing gears. All 4 gears engage. It is rebuild unit i bought the car used. When i clear codes (sometimes during driving ) it will shift normally but when i come to a stop and start driving again MIL comes on and shifts late and hard into second and so forth. Car is currently in Poland and i am looking to keep the car for a while. Some years go i used to work as a mechanic for Polkowitz Cadillac in NJ (15 yers ago). If any one has some guidance i d appreciate it much. Peter

polandcaddy
I had PO74 one time after clearing codes never came back, also PO76 but different time and also only once and never came back. Now only PO86 appears at all times.
polandcaddy
I just found out replacement transmission was from sts model and mine is sls. Different ger ratios or different final drive would make ecu go crazy and think that tranny is screed up? If that is the case can I swap ecu from sts to sls? Texas Jim
Transmissions need to be from the same model... I don't think swapping the ECU is gonna fix the problem... Someone with more knowledge than I will say for sure.
