Radiator (engine oil cooler)

Recommended Posts

I have a 2002 Caddy STS. Im going to need to buy a radiator but they seem to sell 2 types . with or without engine oil cooler. How can I determine if the car has an engine oil cooler.

Any info will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I think you want with the transmission oil cooler:

The delco site says the 02 STS uses:

ACDELCO Part # 21553 {#89018529}

us.gif ca.gif RADIATOR w/EXTRA CAPACITY CLG(V03); CORE SIZE 30 5/16IN X 15IN X 1 15/16IN CODE LFD; STS Model

Your STS has both. One endtank in the radiator has the transmission oil cooler, the other end has the engine oil cooler.

Number 9 is the oil cooler; number 18 is the tranny cooler

dont know if this helps but when I bought the radiator for my 97 sls they told me the one without the engine oil cooler was discontinued and that they only sell the one with the fittings, they are capped off. Dont know if this would apply to yours also but it is something to think about
