Bruce Nunnally
Article Feast your eyes on that deep diamond-tucked leather upholstery! It's like the furniture in an elderly tax attorney's office, circa 1961, which is just about right for the car's target audience. KHE
The '79-'85 Eldorados were very nice looking cars. The article has some incorrect information though. The Olds 350 V8 was used in the Eldorado only in the 1979 model year. 1980 got the 368 and the 1981 had the V-864 (also 368 cu-in) standard. The HT-4100 was not introduced until the 1982 model year. Eldorado1
The '79 through '85 Eldorados were an excellent interpretation of the Eldorado in a smaller package, compared to the previous generations of the model. My Mom owned a 1981 Eldorado Coupe with Astroroof and Cabriolet Roof and Opera Lamps in triple Desert Sand Firemist--and it was reliable and it performed very well through three and one-half years of ownership--but most of all, it was stylish and comfortable.
