sdlonyer
How to Refill NorthStar cooling system?
rockfangd
depends on dry fill or topoff. Fill the system till the coolant can be seen about 1.5 to 2 inches below the neck of the purge tank. you may need a flashlight. System is self purging so that helps but I usually squeeze the upper radiator hose to expel most of the air. Very low on coollant. Was thinking of filling little by little through upper radiator hose while running engine in short spirts.
KHE
Drain the cooling system enough to remove the hose. When refilling the system, just fill it to the top of the neck and it will settle. Once it stops settling, start the engine and keep it filled to 2-1/2 inches below the neck of the surge tank. The system self purges the air so there is no need to fill through the radiator hose or use some other technique. It will take a few drive cycles for the level to stabilize. The full point is 2-1/2" below the neck of the surge tank. Kevin '93 Fleetwood Brougham '05 Deville '04 Deville 2013 Silverado Z71

I was off on a wrong track. Thank you, Thank you. CR
