Quality window regulator replacement

Recommended Posts

The front window regulator on Deville has failed and am about to order a replacement. Is there any company that offers a quality/upgraded part that has improved or redesigned so that it doesn't break again? Guess I'm looking for the best quality part to replace the OEM one. Or has Delco changed out the crappy plastic part for a more durable piece? Thanks!

I used the cotter pin method on my father-in-laws 04 Deville rear passenger window and it is working great. Check out the thread on the other forum above. It just cost my time because we just found some cotter pins my father-in-law had laying around. We also used a clamp on sinker to use as a spacer where the plastic tab broke. I have read many horror stories about this problem. Fixes that cost up to $400 and people complaining that is should be a recall. It seems like we have a lot of new threads on the subject after I posted mine. If you own a 2000 & up Caddy be prepared for this fix because it is only a matter of time.

Check any full size GM truck forum ! Same issue with the window

regulator/motor assembly failure (aka the cheap plastic band that

breaks).

For the GM truck a Delco replacement was almost $200 bucks !

The cheap china knockoffs for less than $50 !

I have replaced several and the china specials have lasted as

long as the Delco OEMs!

I wonder if the Delcos for the DTS/Deville crossreference with

the fullsize GM trucks??? Anybody got a crossreference book?
