rockfangd
Does anyone know the proper way to change the license plate light on a 96 Deville. Mine stopped working this week and I do not want to get pulled over because of it. From outside all I see is 2 torx screws going up toward the light,, but have no clue as to what I have to do to gain access. Thanks all. Cadillac Jim
Try looking under the liner from the inside. You should be able to see the backs bulb sockets. Pop them out of the fixture and change the bulbs. Be careful not to fingerprint the new bulbs to get maximum bulb life. rockfangd
well I did the light tonight and I have to say its alot of work for 1 small bulb. remove license plate, remove 4 #2phillips screws from behind the plate, open trunk and remove liner enough to access back area remove 2 7mm screws from behind the backup light areas I replaced all the bulbs while I had it apart. license 194 backup 1157. reassemble. and I might add I think the license light is brighter than it needs to be, to me if it comes on thats more than enough to satisfy me Edited December 15, 2010 by rockfangd Quote GM FAN FOREVER Nice, clean, luxury= fine automobile
