Bruce Nunnally
I must like to shop, because I certainly take a long time in some cases to settle on my next purchase! Today’s question, is a newer car inherently more fun than an older model? One of the Corvette Designers, when asked which Corvette was the best one, replied, “One should always buy the newest model [...] View the full Blog Post Bruce 2016 Cadillac ATS-V gray/black Follow me on: Twitter Instagram Youtube
Texas Jim
In choosing between a 2010 CTS Premium and a 2008 STS "V" Regarding the STS-V You can buy updated map disks. You can get GMPP. And best of all... It is a "V". That trumps the "NEWER" issue...at least for me it would.
Bruce Nunnally
I keep 'catching' on the much worse MPG and expensive tires on the STS-V, but we'll see. At the same price the V is around $1.5K more expensive per year to operate. At the same price the V is around $1.5K more expensive per year to operate. I can see where that could be an issue for some. I don't worry too much about mileage...UP TO A POINT... But that "IS" one thing that is making me lean "AWAY" from a new CTS "V". The mileage and it being so much smaller than my DTS. I really would like the performance of a 2009 or newer "V"... but... I really like the room of the DTS... I just put a set of tires on the DTS. About $1,100 bucks out the door. But they have a 60,000 mile treadwear warranty, so they should be the last ones I buy for this car, before getting another one. No more often than tires are needed... I don't use that as much of a factor. Of course, if you have the max performance tires, I have read that they don't last very long. "THEN" tires "WOULD" become a factor to consider. At this point... I am leaning towards a 2011 or just maybe, a 2010, Platinum DTS. Maybe in Crystal Red Tintcoat with the Light Linen interior. :D
rustyboltz
I love the 80's and early 90's cadillac models because they have been the best for me. I have drove them from coast to coast and have drove other brands the same distance and the cadillacs will not make me ache and have leg cramps after sitting for a long time in it. I also love the feeling of riding on a puffy cloud. Not to change anything, but I do own a Pontiac Fiero to get the feeling of the road and to have some fun. So, my vote for the older models.
