Rhondac
Hello. As described my car is in shop getting brake pads. The mechanic has called and said the good news is the brake pads are on but now my car will not work. He has called local dealer and talked to Canada and Michigan. They tell him to take the key and unlock the door so the car knows it is not being vandalized but that does not work. He has unhooked the battery for an hour and reconnected. They have checked all fuses. It has thrown no code. Does anyone have any suggestions. PLEASE HELP.
BodybyFisher
You need to provide more info, you say 'will not work', what exactly happens, any messages? I assume the battery tested OK?, did they leave the door open during the work? Check the battery connections And check for DTC codes that are set, follow the directions here http://www.caddyinfo...adingcodes.html Post any codes Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm

The mechanic says he has checked the battery. He says the dome lights work, the radio works and the rear lights work and nothing else. He says no codes are shown and that the computer system is shut down. He now says he is going to tow it to he dealership and that they are going to reboot the computer. What do you think? Like Mike said... see if he will show you what he tightened. Glad it is fixed for you.
