The 2010 Cadillac Escalade engine is the 6.2L V8 engine code L94 (except for the Escalade Hybrid which uses the LZ1 6L).  After the mighty Supercharged 6.2L LSA engine in the Cadillac CTS-V, it is the 2nd most powerful engine available in a Cadillac.  What makes this engine special? The Vortec 6.2L is a fourth-generation descendant [...]

My son has a 2007 Sierra Denali with the 403 HP, 6.2L.

That thing is "STOUT" :D:D:D

It has custom duals, cold air intake, and both engine and transmission have been tuned with EFI Live.

I love that engine.

If I was getting a pickup, I would settle for nothing less.

The 1st gear in the 6 speed transmission is REALLY LOW.

Gives it REALLY GREAT PUNCH, coming off the line.

It will snap your head back. :D:D

It has power and torque comparable to the old "BIG BLOCKS", or maybe even better.

It is a really fun truck to drive. :D

We aill be taking it to the 1/4 mile track in the Spring to see how it REALLY runs...(along with my DTS)

Fun. Yes, the current Escalades do 0-60 mph in around 6.5 sec, about the same as my slightly-tuned CTS or your DTS Sport Sedan. BUT you can get a ton of mods/upgrades for the LSx engines like the L94 in the Escalade. The more I researched the L94 engine for that article the higher my regard for the engine line went. I already knew that it was L92 changes that led to the LS3, because the hot engine for a while was an LS2 with L92 heads.

I'll be interested to hear how your trip to the strip goes.

I will do a full report on the trip to the strip...when it happens.

I hate to admit it but, after driving his truck...

I think that his 6.2 will run circles around my DTS. Darn it. :o

That thing will flat out "RUN." :D:D:D

Cubic inches will usually win the day.

Too bad the current (Gen VII) Big Block is not available in 1/2 ton trucks.
