I would think that if it is made for your car...aftermarket would work ok if it was a name brand like STANT.

I would compare dealer prices vs aftermarket, and if it is not a whole lot more...I would get the genuine GM cap.

A couple of years ago, I got gas and forgot to put the cap on, leaving it on the pump. I replaced it with a STANT and its been fine

Retrieve your DTC codes, they may provide a clue, post your codes on the other thread

Go to the top of this page, click HOW TO, then DTC codes, follow directions for your year and post the codes
