Bruce Nunnally
I spend a lot of time 'shopping' online for Cadillacs. My CTS is doing great, but I enjoy looking at lists of available Cadillacs. The 1993-1996 Cadillac Fleetwood Broughams were special cars. Built on the D-body, and cousins to the Chevrolet Impala SS of the same period, these super-size Cadillacs (for modern times) had 260 hp LT1 5.7L V8s. Good acceleration, tons of space, and reasonable fuel economy. [craig's list posting] As you might expect, they have continued to slide in value. This example is an apparently unmolested 1993 Fleetwood with 76K miles. Asking price? $4,500. If you need or enjoy a larger car, these seem like bullet-proof Cadillacs that can haul. They are great cars. I have had mine since it was brand new and other than normal wear items like distributor cap, rotor, tires and brakes, I have not had to do much maintenance on it. Only the '94-'96 model years had the LT1 engine. The '93 had the 350 cu-in (5.7L) engine with throttle body fuel injection. Bruce Nunnally
Woops, good catch. The 1993 Fleetwood 5.7L made 185hp, not the 260hp the 5.7L LT1 put out in the 94-96.
