launalewis
I just acquired a 1984 Caddy Eldorado, can someone tell me how to set the clock. Also having a problem with the auto sensing lights, I can't get the brights to stay on.
KHE
Press the "SET" button and then use the "SEEK" button to set the hour and the "SCAN" button to set the minutes. It sounds like the NEAR/FAR setting on the Auto Dim lights may be misadjusted - there is a lever that is close to the headlight switch knob to control the distance at which the lights will dim and then return to bright. The other lever is the Sentinel delay - how long the headlights will stay on after the ignition is turned off. launalewis
There is no set button on this stereo. I tried pulling out one of the station buttons (which is how you set a station) and using the seek and scan, but nothing happens.
Texas Jim
Look at the button on the very left of the radio, closest to the steering wheel. See if it says SET on the leading edge. The printing will be REAL SMALL.
KHE
Can you describe the radio? The Eldorados of that vintage were in transition from the smaller radio with amber digits to the larger radios that were common across platforms to the Oldsmobiles and Buicks. Yes, it is the one with the amber digits.
KHE
Is this the radio you have in your car? (You will need to select the picture that shows the dash.) http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Cadillac-El...5fCarsQ5fTrucks Setting the clock is done vial the SEEK and SCAN buttons. It has been many years but I think you should be able to press and hold the SEEK and SCAN buttons to set the clock. KevinW
I believe *pulling* the SEEK and SCAN buttons will do the trick on that generation of radio. ___________________________________________________
