Bruce Nunnally
Digitalcorvettes.com is quoting one of their supporting dealers, CorvetteConti, with info the new Corvette ZR1 supercar may have been cancelled. This model just came out, and has the hand built LS9 supercharged V8 engine making 638hp. The LSA engine in the CTS-V is similar, but is not hand made, and does not have some of the hardening for supercharging that the LS9 has. Anyway, due to cash concerns GM may be either delaying production of further ZR1s (hopefully) or shelving the model altogether. An update on Conti's blog is reassuring and asks people not to get too wound up with no more info, but here we are. The ZR1 sells for just over US$100K and the model has a lot of unique parts.
