Bruce Nunnally
Autoblog notes that Porsche is questioning the Nurburgring time for the new Nissan GT-R (Skyline). Nissan recorded a 7:29 circuit of the famous test track. Porsche purchased a new Nissan GT-R and was not able to independently duplicate the Nissan claim, or even get close to it at 25 sec higher. Porsche argues that the only way to duplicate the Nissan time would be if the GR-R were run on racing tires, not production standard tires as expected. The Corvette ZR-1 ran the ring in 7:26 min:sec, the new CTS-V in 7:59 by comparison. The Porsche time for the Nissan GT-R would make it similar to the CTS-V's time.
