njnick88
The trunk pull-down mechanism just broke on my STS, does anyone know how to go about replacing it or installing a new one? Thanks
Ranger
Just pull back the trunk liner. It's pretty self evident once you look at it as I recall.
PAUL T
Just 2 or 3 Screws hold it in after you unplug it. It is not a hard job.

njnick88
Please elaborate on the failure... does the motor run, not run, run continuously, etc. Hi, the motor does not run. I opened the trunk one day and went to close it and the motor didn't pull the trunk closed. The trunk release works though, just not the pull down motor. KHE
Check this thread: http://caddyinfo.ipbhost.com/index.php?showtopic=15372 The upper switch can cause all sorts of problems. It usually gets damaged from slamming the trunk. By the way, most of the power pulldown components are available as service parts so it usually is not necessary to swap out the entire assembly.
