STS Scott
A friend of mine has a 1997 Merc. Sable that is acting up, and he asked me for my input. I figure a board like ours here, for his car would be the best bet. Is anyone aware of one for Taurus/Sables? Then again, if any of you very knowledgable people feel like stepping down from our escalated Cadillac perches (no pun intended!), maybe we could diagnose the lowely Ford right here!... (J/K, I don't want to offend any FoMoCo fans) The problem, as he described it is, the radio and power steering [how are those related?!] go out when at 60mph+ highway speeds. The radio also dies when the car is put in reverse. Thats about it Any thoughts? Thanks! adallak
the radio and power steering [how are those related?!] go out when at 60mph+ it reminds me a movie, a young guy was in love with his preowned car, and so was she! your friend seems to be concerned rather with a silent radio than with loosing ability to steer The saddest thing in life is wasted talent
adallak
does the radio die when he turns the lights on? did he check the serpentine belt, alternator, battery, wires, lose contacts? if one of these things does not work properly you would fet described symptoms. STS Scott
Well, the problem happens during the day he said, thus that rules out the "lights" part of the problem. I will ask him tomorrow about the serpentine belt, and electrics. thanks " ...'took my Cobra down t' the track, hitched to the back o' my Cadillac..." - Jan & Dean, 'hey little cobra' Scott
