Hi I'm looking for some answers. I have a 02 Cadi Deville with 98,935 miles on it I recently took it in for a system analysis check because the Check Engine Light is on. This is what I was told:

Code PO102 MAF Circuit Signal Low

Problem no present at this time

PO440 Evap, System Fault

PO443 Evap Purge Solenoid Control

Circuit Fault

Pigtail for Purge Solenoid

PO463 Fuel Level Sensor Circuit

Signal High/Open

Recommend Fuel Level Sending Unit

PO741 TCC Performance Stuck Off

P1862 Torque Converter Clutch

Solenoid Circuit Problem

What exactly does all of this mean and which should be address in order of importance. Lastly does anyone know the cost I'm lookin at?

Any suggestion are highly appreciated.. Lastly if anyone knows a good shop in the St. Louis Metro Area.

Do a search for TCC or P0741. For the $2000+ cost of repair, you can live with that one. P1862 is what is causing P0741.

P0463 is in the fuel tank. $400 -$500 is my guess, but the '02 Deville may have an access panel in the trunk so the tank may not have to be dropped. That would save labor and $$$$$$

P0440 & 443 are related. Probably need a new purge solenoid. Not a bank breaker.

MAF code not present, I'd clear the code and not worry about it unless it returns.

P0741 is the one that would scare my pants off. Keep in mind however, this can often be a "nuisance" code.

If it's a HISTORY code, I wouldn't worry about it. If it reappears consistently, well . . . . . I'll buy you a beer and you can cry in it.

Best,

Warren

Where did you take it for a system analysis check? Did they charge you? You car has an on board computer that you can do your own "system analysis check" on. See this link which will show you how to read the codes:

Are you having any driveability problems? With the amount of codes you are having you might try disconnecting the battery and cleaning the battery connections really good, pay attention to the positive cable you have to take it apart to clean it, remove the red insulator watch how it comes apart so you can re-assemble it.

One of our members Logan just had the P0741 problem related to the TCC solenoid:

I would want to have the codes set several times to be certain there is a consistent - fixable problem.

The instructions for reading and clearing codes are here http://caddyinfo.com/readingcodes.html

Sometimes evap. related codes can be tracked to a loose gas cap.
