The Fred Posted October 13, 2006 Report Share Posted October 13, 2006 Well I was planning on buying it, Finally got ahold of the guy who owns it.. And the mileage is 160!!! It's gorgeous, well maintained, always had everything it ever needed.. I'm wondering how much life it could have left. I know the transmissions in the 91 aren't too whippy.. the 4.9 lasts a LONG TIME though Say I bought the car and planned on replacing the motor and trans some time, What else can fail at that kind of mileage and destroy my wallet? Would I be alright so long as I figured on a new motor/tranny? I think I will go as high as $1200 for the car and that's it.. MerryChristmas Be a Capitalist or work for one. At 170K I would think that it has been overhauled already. The 4.9 can be problematic at that mileage and as old as it is. See MATT and MARIKA 92 Sevilles. Matts had a hole in it from corrosion and Marika's appears to be leaking internally either from a bad head gasket or cylinder sleeve problem. The Fred Posted October 13, 2006 Author Report Share Posted October 13, 2006 Yes, I can't buy it with that mileage but it is the CLEANEST 1991 cad I have ever seen even back when they weren't so old.. it drives SMOOTH AS A SILK ROBE it is just amazing. You know if anyone else had this car they'd either sell it as a tmu and disable the mileage display OR they'd put a different cpu in there from a lower mileage car This guy is very honest to stand there and tell you the real mileage I swear you would think it had 15,000 on it If I could afford to I'd buy it and just put a new motor and tranny in it or be glad to once it needed them MerryChristmas Be a Capitalist or work for one.
