Unfortunately, these terms differ somewhat from shop to shop. Short block usually means the block without the heads, and Long block includes the heads but not things like valve covers, nor intake or exhaust manifolds. It sounds like you only need a 'short block', but be sure to agree with the seller as to what is included. Here are some ideas for places to contact. You can call Scott from Lakewood scrap yard at 631-957-3200, tell him that Cadillac Mike told you to call (ONLY talk to Scott!). I can go and take a photo of the engine for you and look it over if you want, let me know.. I'll call him and let him know you are going to call if I get a chance. WHEN you speak to and engage with SCOTT, I would be glad to go and see the engine for you, he probably has about 5 or 6 on his shelf.. He has a 1992 (Deville) 4.9 that has 50,000 miles on it, the car was garage kept and was in a collision. He heard it run and it sounded good. That mileage is unheard of.. He wants $400 for it, and he can arrange shipping.. (extra of course). This is a rare find, if you are interested Marco, call him direct. I put him on notice that you would be calling..
