BodybyFisher
Its that its a 1994. Most of us that have 10 year old cars are replacing our compressors. Its fairly routine. Understand that when we were kids, we just CUT the AC belt and that was the END of AC. Cars are lasting longer so the compressor needs replacing. As the mileage increases everything that TURNS wears out, bearings wear, grease dries up, etc, due to age and wear If you look there is LOTS of information in the archives, here is my thread: http://caddyinfo.ipbhost.com/index.php?sho...p;hl=compressor Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm

BodybyFisher
Its not only the compressor itself, the hub bearings go bad, and the hub overheats the clutch, shorting out the windings and blowing the AC Comp fuse. That overheating also damages the seal. We have had a bunch of members that have replaced their compressor. Amazingly, mine was loud at 46,000 miles (hub bearing) and it died a black death about 70,000 miles. The Fred
I am real good to my a/c systems when I can be Back in the days I even would turn the a/c on for about 20 minutes once a week in the winter time (The Cadillacs I had wouldn't let the a/c come on outside - but the garages were heated) MerryChristmas Be a Capitalist or work for one. That is a great idea, That must be why it works so well. In my ex wifes stupid little import car the darned thing would never defog unless I put the a/c button on.. She thought I was dumb when I told her to do that, then I did it, and she was amazed. Women, they scare me. MerryChristmas Be a Capitalist or work for one. Work for a Capitalist or be one.
