CarolinaGreg
Hi All- Long time Caddy enthusiast, first time subscriber/poster..I have a 92 Sedan DeVille (90K miles) with the 4.9 and I am getting an "E85" code casuing the Service Engine Light to come on. I am thinking it is the idle speed control motor, as the car idles entirely too fast, and it appears someone tried to adjust the ISC before I got the car. Has anyone ever used the ISC rebuild kits that you can get at Napa and places like that? Didn't know if it was worth it. Once I fix this problem, we will see what we can do about that pesky ABS light that is on. Thanks! Greg "Torque it down 'til it strips. Then back off half a turn." www.picturetrail.com/carolinagreg
Bruce Nunnally
Paul had a good reply here: http://caddyinfo.ipbhost.com/index.php?sho...ic=7887&hl=E085 This is usually caused by deposits in the throttle body. I would clean out the throttle body good and it should take care of the problem. Other things to check are: 1. Check for other throttle position sensor codes 2. A loose fitting air duct or air cleaner may cause debris to enter the throttle body. 3. Check to see if the ISC motor can retract far enough to close the throttle position switch. 4. Check proper operation of the ISC motor. Bruce 2023 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing Follow me on: Twitter Instagram Youtube
