Monaco500
You keep getting P071, I would look at that first for a bad MAP, short or bad connection. I was thinking that too... I've replaced the MAP about 6 months ago. I suppose it is possible I got a bad MAP sensor, but I fear that there may be a short. Perhaps I should check the connection and chase the wiring to see if it has worn through... Would a short cause the MAP to stall the car only when the car is warm, it's been shut off for a few minutes, and then driven again?

Yeah, I think you're right about the MAP code... I've been outbid on the service manual on Ebay the last 3 times; is the diagnostic tree avaliable on line? Thanks, Eric
BodybyFisher
Put a thread up to someone with the 94 and ask them to scan the MAP code tree, if they would... tbonesoftware
when replacing the pcm you have to do a tp sensor relearn if p080 remains , turn off any high electrical loads maily the hi fans and any thing heated . if the pcm thinks it is under a high electrical load the tp learn procedure will fail
The Fred
Hey the new FPR certainly can't hurt.. It didn't fix my 94STS but it sure made it start and idle alot better It's very easy - make sure you have a torque wrench that will measure INCH POUNDS rather than ft. lbs. I can send you the how to guide that Mr. Vince sent to me. There is a torque sequence. Well heck with 145k I bet that the FPR would be a real good idea. I get to open mine back up on payday to clean the phenolic plates if I spelled that wrong I will just say tectonic plates cause I've heard of those.. I think they're in the earth. Regis
How many miles on the 94 STS? Also, when it does run fine, and you put the peddle to the floor does it seem like it's running full out or does it seem to be restricted and lacking power? When you're cruising down the highway at a constant speed (say with the cruise control on) does it sometimes surge?
