Caddyjag
Hello, I'm currently in search of a replacement shift knob for my 94sls due to wear on the leather. Now I've found several knobs from newer models, particularly a 99. Does anyone know if this knob can be installed instead of the older model knob? If so, what is the procedure to follow?? Bentham
Not an expert, but I BELIEVE that the 98+ will not fit the older models. If you want a sure answer you can call the dealer. Greg P.
Now I've found several knobs from newer models, particularly a 99. Does anyone know if this knob can be installed instead of the older model knob? No the new style shifter will not replace the early style. The main reason is your shifter has the reverse lockout button built into the shifter while the 98 and newer style uses a gated shifter design.
