Every time I go to install one of my radar detectors the spot where I like to put it has the screened mat for the rain sense wipers around th rear view mirror area. And I don't trust the radar detector behind the dotted mat. I like to use the suction cups and just let the detector sit on the left side of the top of the rear view mirror I just have to settle for the dash top..
