SJDeVille
I have a 98 STS with about 84000 miles, just recently when i use the a/c, stop at a light with the shifter in drive, the engine begins to stall off and on, while stalling it nevers turn off, it just ilde from 750rpm to 500rpm, but it doesn't do it in park, i'm guessing trany problems? any suggestions? thanks for any input in advanced. Ranger
I don't think it is the tranny. When the car is in gear it puts and additional load on the engine that is not there when in neutral or park. I'd check the IAC (idle air control) valve. for starters. Ranger
A vacuum leak is also notorious for causing surging problems.
adallak
Do you drive it hard? If yo do not carbon deposits in the throttle body could be the problem. Clean it up . The saddest thing in life is wasted talent
