dkyde
Battery checked and said to be good. Replaced the Alternator and the starter and still nothing. Any advice on what to check for past those items?
Cadillac Jim
The first thing to do is to run the on-board diagnostic (OBD) codes. You start by turning the key on and pressing the A/C buttons OFF and PASS WARMER simultaneously for a few seconds until all the dash lights come on like you just turned on the key, then releasing them. Watch the driver information center (DIC) on the dashboard where the messages come, and you will see the car's computer list the OBD codes. Take notes and post the codes here. Please post more information about what is happening. Does the car turn over? If not, do you hear a click? Does it turn over but not start? -- Click Here for CaddyInfo page on "How To" Read Your OBD Codes-- Click Here for my personal page to download my OBD code list as an Excel file, plus other Cadillac data -- See my CaddyInfo car blogs: 2011 CTS-V, 1997 ETC Yes, I was Jims_97_ETC before I changed cars. joeb
More details please. I am making a BIG assumption here. U changed alternator which has no bearing on a good batteries ability to crank motor. Ur battery is good, but motor will not crank since u changed starter! What do u mean it will not start? No crank? Do u get any security codes? Or messages?
