Ranger
You probably need to replace the AIR pump. Did mine last year.
iam_tybaby
You probably need to replace the AIR pump. Did mine last year. Cool. They say i should poke a hole in some rubber hose so the extra water can leak out. Did u do that?
Ranger
Nope. Never heard of that. The idea is to prevent water intrusion. The new pumps (actually it's just a blower) have a redesigned intake that draws air from the engine bay behind the air filter housing. However, if you look at the diagram, the weak point is a poorly designed intake cover (#9) on the bottom where the intake hose is attached. I got some electrical wire and wired it 17 ways from Sunday so it will never come off. It looks like Bubba and Billy Jo installed it, but it is hidden from site anyway. Function before form. P.S. This diagram is actually the old system. Parts #1,2 & 3 will be different. The intake will actually snap into an oblong hole already stamped in the sheet metal. I think that is it just below #4.
