kureigu3
95 Eldo with 65000 miles overheats when stopped. Outside temp 52. Coolant 50/50. When driving the car temp the cars quickly drops to 217-219. When stopped (I.E. at a red light), the temp quickly rises past 250 and the pressure rises to the point that the cap start releasing pressure. The right cooling fan is running when hot but the left fan is not running. Is this fan for the AC condensor? What could cause the Northstar to overheat only when she is stopped? Assistance appreciated. Craig
Ranger
Get a block test kit and check the air in the surge tank for the presence of exhaust gases. It doesn't sound good.
kureigu3
I'll start troubleshooting the stopped fan first. The temp is very normal when driving at speed. What do you mean "Doesn't look good?"
cadillacjeff7777
Sounds like you've got air in the cooling system. 2008 DTS
