Cat1
I have a 2003 Cadillac Deville. Lately the check coolant level message comes on checked it it's fine. Could this be a fuse/sensor and where would I check it. Also I have and I understand this is a common problem with some Cadillac is that my power steering fluid is leaking from somewhere. So far I haven't been able to find it it's slow I just have to keep it checked but I'd sure like to locate it.
BodybyFisher
The coolant level sensor/switch is part of the black coolant tank. You will need to replace the coolant tank, after you check to see if the wiring connection is loose at the bottom of the tank. Remove the connector and put it back on again to reset it. If it still gives you a false check coolant message replace the tank. You can drain and refill your cooling system at the same time, your cooling system will luv you for it.. You might even consider replacing the thermostat at the same time, checking the water pump belt, coolant tank cap, etc.. CoupeDTS
Look at the power steering hose that comes off the pump and goes down between the engine and wheel well. The hose goes from hardline to rubber line a few times and the rubber line or the connections fail. I replaced mine on my 2000 deville. It took a couple hours but wasnt too bad and was nice to have the leak stopped. Its a long hose, goes from the pump, down behind the engine, all the way to the drivers side of the rack. The old one is a little difficult to get out but the new hose has a better design, less hardline and more rubber line and is pretty easy to get in. Then just bleed the system and work out the air. I think it was $75 for the hose. * 1966 Deville Convertible * 2007 Escalade ESV Black on Black * 1996 Fleetwood Brougham Black on Black V4P -Gone* 1983 Coupe Deville Street/Show Lowrider -Gone* 1970 Calais 4dr Hardtop GONE* 2000 Deville DTS - Silver with Black Leather and SE grille GONE* 1999 Seville STS - Pearl Red GONE
